During the Conference, the Islamic Center of Orlando Imam Tareq Rasheed, and American Muslim Leadership Council Executive Director Imam Helmi Abufarah Elagha Condemned the attacks
and Promised to continue to work with Law enforcement on safety and security. Furthermore, Imam Helmi Abufarah El Agha, the Executive Director of the American Muslim Leadership Council (Aml Council) .
We would like to remind our partners that during these times, we must unite against Terror and Hate and not allow it to divide our community, but rather bring the community together.

His Excellency, Dr. Mohammad Nouh has served as the Minister of Religious Affairs for the Kingdom of Jordan. He was previously the Minister of Youth Services in Jordan. Prior to that, His Excellency was a faculty member at the Islamic Sciences International University in Jordan.
He received his Ph.D. and Master’s degree from the University of Jordan in Amman and has taught at Al-Balqa Applied University, and at Ahl-Albayt University in Amman, Jordan. He also serves as a Friday preacher and an Arbitrator in the Jordanian courts and has delivered fatwas in his area of expertise in fiqh, namely“relationships and personal interactions”. He covers Islamic topics on many TV stations focusing on Aqeeda and Fiqh. Dr. Nouh has been appointed and accepted a position as the Head of the Board of Advisors for AML Center.

Imam Helmi, comes from an interesting background: Born and raised in Saudia Arabia (till age 15), he obtained a strong teaching in various Islamic Studies ranging from Quran, Fiqh, to Islamic History. Then migrated with family to Buffalo New York in the United States, during of which he continued to take the ILM on the hands of few scholars; among the scholars that he studied under are:
Dr. Shiekh Mohamad Nuh Alqudah, The Former Religious Minister of Jordan, and the Former Minister of Youth Services of Jordan, and the son of the late Grand Mufti of Jordan Sheiekh Nuh Al Qudah.
Sh. Zakaria Gasmallah who studied in Imam Muhammad Ibn Saudi University in Al Madina Al-Munawara, who continues to be his mentor, and had the honor of learning from Sh. Ibrahim Madani, from Daru-uloom Al Madania.
On November 2017, The Imam received his bachelors Degree in Islamic Studies from the American Open University , California Branch (Under the supervision of Dr. Aziz Abdeen). The Imam is currently purusing a gradute school Masters Degree program at the American University For Human Sciences.
Previously, the Imam obtained an Associate in Applied Science degree is Business Administration from Erie Community College (after Attending Grover Cleveland High School in Buffalo NY), then transferred to The bachelor of science degree in business administration program at Buffalo State College. Imam graduated from the University Of Buffalo, Bachelor of Science in business administration, with a minor in Political Science.
After the Death of the Imam Brother (Shadi May Allah have mercy upon him) in a car Accident while visiting Phonix AZ,The Imam decided to change his life and carrer, therfore, he began taking course in Islamic studies. Furthermore, he re-located from Buffalo NY to Orlando Florid. At first, the Imam began to simply visit young men at Hooka Bars and invite them to attend the local Isalmic Centers. In 2010, he went on to become active religious clergy work. Imam Abufarah held a position as an Imam in Chicago and later became an Imam in Kissimmee, Florida.Thereafter, Imam Helmi (Abufarah) Co-Founded the American Muslim Leadership Council (AML COUNCIL).
Imam Helmi Abufarah El Agha, also volunteers as a clergyman (chaplain) at Florida Celebration Hospital, Orlando Regional Medical Center, and Florida Children’s Hospital.

Furthermore, Imam Helmi (Abufarah) Elagha, Founded the “Bridge the Gap” program. In early 2013, the Imam, was able to bring the US Attorney Lee Bentley, City, County, State, Federal Law-Enforcments, Educators (UCF, Valancia, and Stetson University, Oscoela School District), Health Care providers (Florida Hospital, ORMC, Osceola), and Various Government Agencies, Private Sectors, and others to a Round-Table Dialogue to discuss current events, affairs, and relationships with the American Muslim Community in central Florida. Up to October of 2016, SIX Successful meetings were conducted in various locations, and the program is still active and very beneficial to the community at large.
Imam Abufarah, in March of 2016 began the 1st Community outreach program, at its Center, which was attended by the FBI, Osceola Sheriff, Kissimmee PD, ST. Cloud PD, Osceola Gov and community members at large. A Culture sensitivity training took place, and the program is still active.
Imam Helmi bagan “Baby Steps” Courses, in which he had the honor in conducting the programs, in Chicago IL, Birmingham AL, Fort Lauderdale FL, and Teledo OH. Among the few courses are: Baby Steps to Happy Home, Baby Steps to Salah, Baby Steps to the life of the Prophet Mohammad SAW, and Baby Step to Getting Closer to Allah”. Imam Helmi Abufarah Elagha, Co-Founded Kissimmee Care Foundation (KCF). KCF conducts many charitable causes among them, feeding the needy, Learning without Hunger program, Housing Assistance and more.
Imam Helmi also, conducts marriage counseling sessions for the community, as well as Youth Counseling at the council center, and participating in Oscoela, Orange, and Polk County Courts.
